But it's not just writers and fans fawning over what was seen in San Jose on Saturday night.
In a new blog at BleacherReport.com, B.J. Penn talked about the fight, going so far as to say it's the best fight he's ever seen.
"I think Dan Henderson versus 'Shogun' was the best fight I have ever seen in my life," Penn wrote. "What a fight! It was very close; I think the first three rounds were close. I didn't feel like Dan really pulled away from 'Shogun' in any of those rounds. I know at one point Dan dropped him and went in for the kill and unloaded but 'Shogun' handled it and came back to win the last two rounds."
"It was great to see two legends of the sport put it all on the line like that. Dan is just a beast and like I said, it was the best fight I have ever seen."
Penick's Analysis: You're not going to find much argument from me. It may not be the best fight ever, and there are others that deserve to be in the conversation of "best fights ever," but it's certainly one of my favorite of all time. When I first wrote those words on Saturday night, it was in the heat of the moment, but upon re-watching the bout it sticks. It was simply a classic, and it's a fight I'll want to watch many times over. Clearly Penn feels the same.
