Credit Card Debt Reaches Highest Ever Amount in the US

Credit card debt is blitzing the US and its economy as people are still struggling to climb out of the hole the recession has put them in. With impulse buying, paying for general items, bills and repayments with credit cards, the little plastic friend is being relied on more and more.

As many people have lost their jobs or main source of income, and are struggling to repay their credit card debt, as mortgage payments and other debts have to take precedence, credit card repayments are falling by the wayside. With a debt settlement company, US citizens can finally get the break they need but only if you get in touch with them quickly.

The problem is that some people don't qualify for a settlement and will still have to struggle, but for others, it's the best decision they can make as their bills are sliced down and they only have to pay back one consolidated amount instead of many types of credit card debt.

Clear Your Mind by Clearing Your Credit Card Debt

Credit card debt is one of those situations that you wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy. It drives you mad, makes you sad and depressed, and is something that many people simply do not have a clue how to get out of. With a debt counselor, you can see if your situation is viable for a settlement and you could be on your way to reducing your debts by up to 30% and paying a much lower amount each month.

The way that credit card interest works is that every time you only repay the minimum you're actually left with more debt, not less, and this is what adds to the total month after month after month. It only takes a few missed payments to be deeply stuck in credit card debt.

With a counselor's help you can clear your mind and debts by only having to pay one amount, which is always going to be easier than juggling student loans, car repayments and mortgages. This is possibly the only way to get out of the dreaded credit card debt.

Credit Card Debt Repayments Can Finally Be at an End

Credit card debt can be cleared using a debt settlement company as they negotiate a deal with the card companies. It's all too easy to get a credit card and then finally when you have a few, you find yourself really in dire straits with the repayments. With a consolidation of the debts, you can get a grasp of your finances again and start to enjoy life again.

With a good negotiation, you could be clear of your credit card debt within two years or less. Obviously, you must keep up the repayments or you will struggle to get another break. By paying less, you have more room to live your life and get yourself back on track.

If you want to clear your debts, then get in touch with a debt counselor and relieve your worries and yourself of credit card debt.

Student Loan Settlement

http://bit.ly/xghR26
Student Loan Settlement
Credit card debt is something none of us want to experience, but the chances of it happening are very high, unfortunately. The reasons why it happens could be a loss of income, a loss of a job completely, an illness, hefty hospital bills or simply just letting your impulse buying get the better of you.

It's all too easy to overspend and then as the end of the month comes, you're left with nothing. When it comes to paying your credit card debt back, you either don't have enough money or you're only just scraping by on the minimum repayment method. This will grow and grow, and you'll find that it's incredibly difficult to climb out of debt once you're there, unless you win the lotto and that's not a viable solution.

So, you're options are to bury your head in the sand and let the problem get worse or you could contact a debt settlement company that can combine your unsecured debts and negotiate deals with your creditors so you pay much less per month and finally have a way out of credit card debt.

Join Millions of Others By Paying Off Your Credit Card Debt

Credit card debt is so common but many people don't realize that it's just as common to get out of debt as it is to get into it. The reason being is some people don't realize they have an option and run away or take themselves off the grid completely. In worse situations, they try and hop the border never to return to the US and miss their family and friends, all because of money.

Although that is extreme, there really is no point. If you've lost your job or struggle to find one, then you can feel much better about having much smaller repayments to make back. The credit card debt company will stop all of the hassling from the creditors and this also makes life a lot easier than it once was.

The problem is, you need to be able to qualify for a debt counselor to take your case on. If you have debt and want to get rid of it, but it's secured debt, then the chances of it working for you a slim. If you have credit card debt, then they can help.

Clearing Credit Card Debt Saves Millions of Lives

Credit card debt and other financial struggles can make people do crazy things and it wouldn't be the case if they simply knew there was something that could help them. The debt counselor is pitched between the creditor and the debtor, and make the best deal for both parties. The debtor repays a smaller amount and the creditor receives some money, which is better than nothing.

The reason why it's almost impossible for you to negotiate a deal is that every credit card debt is different. The spending patterns and spending power will indicate the company that you can pay it back or you were reckless. This minimizes your case and it's why with a ton of experience, the counselor will have a much better chance at striking a deal.

If you feel you have no answers, then clear your credit card debt and contact a counselor today.

Anthony Johnson's camp blames weigh-in day illness for UFC 142 weigh-in snafu

By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief

Anthony_Rumble_Johnson_180_4.jpg
Anthony "Rumble" Johnson's failure to make weight on Friday for his UFC 142 bout with Vitor Belfort was due to an illness, according to his management.

In comments made to Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Iole, Authentic Management's Glenn Robinson claims that Johnson fell ill three hours before weigh-ins, and was given fluids by a UFC doctor, leading to his 197 lb. weigh-in. Further, Robinson contends that Johnson awoke Friday morning at 191.5 pounds, and would not have had an issue getting to 186 were it not for the illness.

Regardless, Johnson needs to weigh-in under 205 lbs. tomorrow in order for the fight to go on as planned, and he will lose 20% of his purse for the fight because of missing weight.

Penick's Analysis: If Johnson's camp's story is correct, and it was a UFC doctor that was giving Johnson fluids, then Dana White's response to the issue was harsh this afternoon. Johnson did come in egregiously overweight, and it is unprofessional regardless of the reason to be that heavy, but it's a little more understandable under these circumstances. At the least, if this is why it happened, he's at less risk of being cut from the UFC after tomorrow's event, but either way it doesn't look good to come in as over weight as he did with his history of issues on this front.

HYDEN BLOG: UFC 142 Buyrate and Brock Lesnar Bashers

Staff08Hyden_Main_17.jpg
By: Frank Hyden, MMATorch contributor

UFC 142 is Saturday. It's co-headlined by Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes and Anthony Johnson vs. Vitor Belfort; and they should both be pretty good fights. This event takes place in Brazil and features a lot of Brazilian fighters, which is one of the factors that will have an impact on the buys, in large part due to the fighters not being big names outside of Aldo and Belfort.

MMATorch is running a poll asking people if they'll be watching UFC 142 or the NFL playoff game between the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots. I expect the results to be a bit more even than what will actually happen. Reason being that visitors to this site are generally big MMA fans. To them it could be a hard decision to make. To most sports fans, the choice is easy.

The NFL game is going to do a monster rating. There's plenty of reasons for that, starting with the fact that it's a playoff game. The NFL is one-and-done, that generates a ton of excitement. Secondly, the New England Patriots are playing. Whether you love them or hate them, most have strong feelings about that team. Third, the Denver Broncos are the talk of the sports world because of Tim Tebow and the way the Broncos dispatched the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.

The UFC isn't necessarily throwing in the towel with this lineup for UFC 142, but it's certainly not their strongest. Jose Aldo is an exciting fighter, and the more he's exposed to a wider audience, the bigger name he'll become; he's still very young, and will only get better with age. Chad Mendes is a somewhat unknown fighter, but everyone's unknown at some point.

I expect Anthony Johnson vs. Vitor Belfort to be a very exciting fight, and a deserving co-main event. We all expect sparks to fly between these two, and it should be a great one. It's a large source of pride for a fighter to compete in his home country, and the UFC is doing a good thing by having all these Brazilians fight on this card. The pay-per-view numbers may take a hit, but you have to look at the big picture. Jose Aldo should, and probably will, be a big star for the UFC for years to come, and his fighting style will earn him plenty of fans. Fighting in his home country of Brazil will be a great honor for him.

The visual of all those fans cheering for him and chanting for him will make Aldo appear to be a big star, and it's only a matter of time before he becomes that big star. Exciting fights are what sell, and Aldo is more than capable of bringing the excitement.

*************

Last week I hit upon the issue of Brock Lesnar retiring and why I wasn't very surprised, as well as how I thought his career wasn't going to be that long anyway. One thing I didn't really touch on was how ridiculous it is that there are people coming out of the woodwork trying to diminish what Brock accomplished in his short tenure. They want to write it off as a fluke or tomato can opponents or something equally as dumb.

Do I think Brock Lesnar belongs in the UFC Hall of Fame? Absolutely, he does. I'll start with the most tenuous part of it first, and that's his record. Yes, Brock lost to Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem. He also lost to Frank Mir in his second pro fight, emphasis on "second pro fight." In between those losses he beat Heath Herring, Randy Couture (winning the UFC Heavyweight title), Frank Mir (a total domination, by the way), and Shane Carwin.

Those guys are not cans; even Heath Herring had 42 fights before his fight with Lesnar, winning 28 of them. That's not somebody I would describe as a bum. Lesnar won the UFC Heavyweight Title and defended it twice, and how many guys can say that? Two, other than Lesnar.

If this were based on just his win/loss record, though, it would be a bit difficult to vote him in. Those last two losses really looked bad, but you could still make a case for him. There's no question that Brock was put into fights against guys before he was ready. He didn't have the experience that his other opponents did, and he had to rely on his natural talent.

To me the strongest argument you can make as to why Brock Lesnar belongs in the UFC Hall of Fame is his drawing ability. If you compiled a list of the highest selling PPV's in UFC history you'd see the name Lesnar a lot. In his last five fights, four of them sold over a million buys. You can count on one hand the non-Brock events that have done over a million buys in UFC history. Half of all the UFC events that did 1 million+ buys were headlined by Brock Lesnar. That's something you can't deny. I believe he belongs in the UFC Hall of Fame for that fact alone.

I don't know why people are trying to diminish Brock Lesnar's career. I'm sure some of it has to do with his previous career as a pro wrestler, some of it might be because of his personality. Whatever the reason is, though, it just makes the person look petty. I guess it wouldn't be sports without these types of arguments, though.

Dan Henderson explains why he turned down UFC bout with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira

By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief

HendersonDam_180_7.jpg
The UFC's first trip to Sweden will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Alexander Gustafsson and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, but it's not the fight UFC officials initially targeted for Nogueira off his UFC 140 win over Tito Ortiz.

Ariel Helwani reported during Tuesday night's new "UFC Tonight" episode that the organization initially approached Dan Henderson about taking a fight with Nogueira, but "Hendo" turned the bout down. In an interview on Wednesday's Clinch Gear Radio on SiriusXM, Henderson explained his reasoning for turning that fight down.

"I was under the impression that [UFC President Dana White] still kind of was on the fence whether he was going to put me in front of Rashad or not, that's assuming Rashad wins," Henderson said (transcribed by MMAFighting.com. "[White] did offer me a fight with 'Little Nogueira.' I didn't think the fans would be interested in that fight, and not as much time as I would like to prepare for a five-round fight. So I told him I would wait to see what happened with the Rashad fight. I would like to fight Jones now rather than if I took that fight with 'Little Nog,' it wouldn't be fighting Jones until another eight-nine months."

"It would have kept me active right now, but I'm okay waiting a little bit. We'll see what happens with the Rashad fight and go from there"

Henderson said he would have entertained the Nogueira fight more had it been a three round affair, but with the UFC wanting them to headline an event in a five-round bout it wasn't a fight he wanted to take. Now, he'll await the results of January 28 and the UFC on Fox 2 card to determine what his next move will be.

Penick's Analysis: Nogueira and his brother, along with UFC Middleweight Champ Anderson Silva, are the only three fighters to ever stop Henderson in a fight. However, even though Nogueira does hold a win over Henderson, that's not the right fight for Henderson right now with a title shot potentially looming, so declining the rematch makes sense. Nogueira just picked up a win after losing two straight, while Henderson is riding perhaps his best career run, and if Evans gets beat by Phil Davis, or if he gets injured in a victory, Henderson will get a chance to claim the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. I don't think you can blame him for turning down the Nogueira matchup with that on the line.

ROUNDTABLE: With UFC 142 move to middleweight, is Anthony Johnson finished with the welterweight division?

Anthony_Rumble_Johnson_180_1.jpg
Do you believe Anthony Johnson is done as a welterweight with his move up, or is there a scenario you see for him to try to move back down?

RICH HANSEN, MMATORCH COLUMNIST?

Well, if Johnson gets KTFO in 35 seconds, it's likely he's going to go back to 170, naturally. Other than that, I think he's a middleweight now.

FRANK HYDEN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR??

I think the only way Johnson would go back to welterweight would be if he were unable to make a mark in the middleweight division. I think Johnson can, and will, make a big impact in the UFC middleweight division. I think Johnson matches up well with a lot of the other middleweights. I'm hoping to see big things from Johnson at 185 lbs.

ANWAR PEREZ, MMATORCH COLUMNIST

I believe Anthony Johnson will stay as a middleweight as it seems like a division that he can benefit from being in. Also, with the lack of depth in the division, and some possible improvement on his part, he may be able to move up the ranks as a top contender to Anderson Silva.

ERIC HOBAUGH, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

I would say he is done at welterweight, unless he is a last minute replacement in a huge fight. He has had trouble making 170 and he did not make weight at UFC 104 against Yoshiyuki Yoshida. I think he will be more effective at 185. The weight cut was exhausting for him. He should have more in the tank and be able to go as hard in the later rounds as he does at the start of the fight. This will be a good move for him. I think this weight class will allow him to make a run at the middleweight title.

JASON AMADI, MMATORCH COLUMNIST

The welterweight division has GSP on the sidelines for most of 2012, an interim title fight locked in, Jake Ellenberger on the cusp of a title opportunity, Johny Hendricks right behind him and Josh Koscheck (who's beaten Johnson) is still looming in the division. Anthony Johnson would pretty much have to go through all of those guys to get a shot at an interim Championship before St-Pierre returns next year.

Meanwhile in the middleweight division, either Chael Sonnen or Mark Munoz will challenge Anderson Silva in June... and that's pretty much it for the first six months of 2012. With an impressive performance by Anthony Johnson against Vitor Belfort, "Rumble" could easily slip into a title eliminator against the winner of Demian Maia-Michael Bisping and fight for the undisputed UFC Middleweight Title this year.

If Johnson beats Belfort, there's no reason to even entertain slimming back down to compete at 170.

MATT PELKEY, MMATORCH COLUMNIST

Anthony Johnson is 6'2" of thick, chiseled muscle. He walks around north of 200 lbs. If he's finally succumb to the pressure to move up to middleweight for this fight, why would he move back down and subject himself to that hellacious weight cut again? 185 is the far shallower division anyway. If he beats Vitor Belfort, he's probably only one more win away from a title shot. He certainly can't say that at welterweight. Stick with the big boys, Rumble.

Outside the Lines Hits UFC on Fighter Pay, Dana White Vows to Hit Back

Filed under:

Dana WhiteESPN's Outside the Lines will air an investigation into the payment for UFC fighters on Sunday morning that already has UFC President Dana White steamed, even before he's seen the report in full.

A portion of the Outside the Lines segment is available at ESPN.com, along with an article headlined, "UFC fighters say low pay simply brutal." White wasn't pleased with that, and he wrote on Twitter on Thursday that he'll have a public response to the show after it airs. He added that his people also taped ESPN's interview with UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta, and that the UFC will show fans the complete, un-edited interview.

ESPN wasn't able to get any active UFC fighters to complain about their pay on the record, and the only former fighter quoted on the record criticizing the UFC is Ken Shamrock, who has lost legal battles with the promotion. So the report is lacking any fighters who can specifically document how they've been treated unfairly by the UFC.

Where ESPN's report appears strongest is in its presentation of how much more the top fighters make than the lowest-paid fighters: It notes that the biggest stars can make seven-figure paydays for each fight, while the lowest-paid fighters make four figures per fight. There's no question that at the bottom, UFC fighters aren't making a lot of money.

However, some of the numbers presented both on the Outside the Lines broadcast and in the accompanying ESPN.com report don't seem to add up. For instance, the report refers to the median pay of UFC fighters as between $17,000 and $23,000 a year, and yet an unnamed "Fighter X" who is quoted as saying, "I'm in the middle tier of fighters," reveals that he has made as much as $80,000 in a year. If a middle-tier fighter makes $80,000, then the claim that the median pay of UFC fighters is $17,000 to $23,000 a year is bogus.

And even though it is true that some UFC fighters make less than $10,000 a fight, those are the largely interchangeable fighters who fill up the bottom of the undercard on UFC shows. Those fighters would be comparable to NFL practice squad players, who are sometimes signed for as little as a week at a time and paid as little as $5,700 for their week on an NFL team.

The Outside the Lines piece also would have benefited from exploring what has happened to rival promotions that have paid fighters more money than the UFC pays. The most notable example is the clothing company Affliction, which made a splash as an MMA promoter by signing several high-profile fighters to contracts that paid them significantly more money than they could make in the UFC. Affliction, however, went belly-up after promoting just two events.

So while it may be true that some low-paid fighters consider the UFC's pay scale to be "brutal," the UFC's business model is also the only one that has proven to be a viable way for MMA fighters to remain employed and for an MMA promotion to remain in business.

Outside the Lines is a well-respected show that often stirs up important debates inside the sports world. We'll see with Sunday's episode what kind of debate about fighter pay begins. And what kind of response White offers.

UPDATE: After MMAFighting.com published this, ESPN.com changed its story to say that the $17,000 to $23,000 median income is per fight, rather than per year.

Eddie Alvarez not entering Bellator season six tournament, eying Shinya Aoki rematch

By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief

Eddie_Alvarez_belt_200.jpg
Eddie Alvarez lost his Bellator Lightweight Championship to Michael Chandler in November in an immensely exciting "Fight of the Year" candidate, but he won't be using the first half of 2012 attempting to gain a rematch.

In an interview with MMAJunkie.com, Bellator chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney says that Alvarez will be eying a rematch with Shinya Aoki, and will not take part in the season six lightweight tournament.

"Ed won't be part of the next tournament during the March kickoff," Rebney said. "The decision was reached between us that the next right step wouldn't be to jump back in the season-tournament right now."

Before the Chandler loss, Alvarez's last defeat came against Aoki at the end of 2008 by heel hook. At the time it was only his second career defeat, and he railed off seven straight wins before the shocking upset loss to Chandler.

Rebney's not yet sure whether that rematch will happen under the DREAM or Bellator banner, but that's what they're targeting for Alvarez's next bout.

Penick's Analysis: Bellator's refusal to make title fights without a tournament winner, while an admirable attempt to keep it as "sporting" as possible, is still a flawed system that doesn't allow for certain scenarios in the fight game that call for rematches. This isn't necessarily one of those cases where an immediate rematch is necessary, especially with a decisive finish by Chandler, but what it does mean is it would take Alvarez four more fights at the least to earn another shot if he's going to fight Aoki, and then he'd still be behind whomever wins the season six tournament.

COLUMN: 12 Bold, Ridiculous, and Insane MMA Predictions For 2012

By: Brad Walker, MMATorch Contributor

MMATorchAvatar2011V2_180_16.jpg
This idea came about during the 11 for '11 series, and I asked if I could do a column for it, but they were already assigned. So, Jamie Penick said, "what about a 12 for 2012?" ... I thought to myself, what heresy is this? A 12 for '12 at the beginning of the year? How could we be so bold...? Then it dawned on me that I wanted to do BOLD PREDICTIONS for the upcoming year in mixed martial arts. It also dawned on me that I was two thirds of an idiot for not realizing that Jamie's idea was actually far more intelligent than mine. So here it is: my 12 bold, insane, borderline crazy, what-the-hell-is-he-smoking predictions for the year of the presumed apocalypse, 2012.

12.) UFC merges in the women's divisions

Oh yes, I said that, loud and proud like Nostradamus on a bender. At some point Dana White has to realize whether or not HE likes it, the fans are into women's MMA. Stars are breaking out, Miesha Tate is huge right now, and Ronda Rousey has become the arm-bar assassin that we all root for even though she's only four fights into her career, while Gina Carano has become completely irrelevant to the sport. The torch is being forcefully passed, and we all know that it's not going to Cris Cyborg. The likes of Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey and Felice Herrig will be the faces of women's MMA for the years to come, and Dana White will bring them into the UFC fold.

11.) Another former pro-wrestler will debut under the Zuffa banner

Don't ask me who it will be, because I'm going to say Dave Bautista and, in turn, be dead wrong. Bobby Lashley doesn't really count in my book because of how quick he entered and exited Strikeforce, but I have my eyes on some names in the midst of WWE and TNA who have legitimate wrestling backgrounds and could make a splash. We won't be seeing another Brock Lesnar anytime soon, if ever, but we may get treated to another incredibly underrated former pro-wrestler hopping over from fake-beating-people-up to scrapping inside the cage, full contact.

10.) Fedor will return to fight in Strikeforce (or UFC)

Dana White has spent so much time, even recently (see TMZ.com) telling people how much Fedor sucks. There's only one problem with that, Fedor has beaten numerous former UFC Champions. So is Dana White in turn saying that Mark Coleman, Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski also sucked in their prime? I'm not going to sit here and say that Fedor is going to make some epic comeback to be the best again; I'm simply implying that he doesn't entirely suck. Give him a shot, let him fight someone, anyone in the heavyweight division, and let's see Dana White prove a point, or get proven wrong.

9.) Brock Lesnar will not make a return to WWE

Ok, I know technically this isn't MMA related completely, but it was just two weeks ago. Brock has had a hell of a time in the last couple years of his life, and been in some pretty bad situations. After finding out he can really beat the crap out of people, why would he want to go back to pretending to beat people up? He's made enough money in MMA and his past with WWE that monetary concerns certainly don't plague him on a daily basis. I think Brock will go home to Minnesota and work with the members of Team Deathclutch rather than putting on his black speedo and throwing other guys around in a pretend-violent fashion.

8.) Georges St-Pierre will not be the Welterweight Champ at the end of the year

And no, I don't mean he won't be the Undisputed Champion, I mean GSP won't even have a belt. I truly believe that Nick Diaz is going to steamroll his way to the top. The division isn't remarkably deep at the moment, but there are enough fighters with talent to keep it interesting. GSP being out of action while Diaz is feeling great is bad for GSP, bad for the UFC and great for the Stockton Slap. Mark my words; the end of his era is upon us.

7.) None of the remaining Strikeforce Heavyweights will make an impact in the UFC

I kind of feel bad saying this actually, because I want to believe that Daniel Cormier, Josh Barnett or "Bigfoot" Silva will have an impact, but I just don't see it happening. The one with the best chance is probably Cormier, due to his wrestling and striking abilities, but people are so die hard on "Bigfoot" coming in that it's saddening. Am I the only one who saw him get decimated by Cormier in the first round? Barnett has a longer history with steroids than Major League Baseball, so why is Dana White even going to give this guy a legitimate shot? They make take some wins, but I really don't think that they're going to be of any relevance.

6.) Melvin Guillard will get a title shot

I just took a breathalyzer test, and it is telling me that I am legally sober, take that how you will. Guillard is an exciting and explosive fighter who has potential to knock anyone in that weight division out... except for maybe Donald Cerrone, that dude has a chin made of adamantium. Melvin doesn't have the best record or the best credentials, but he does have a rumored number one contender fight coming up. He will win that, and go on to face Frankie Edgar; we all know the early flurry is not Edgar's friend, and Guillard has the ability to make that the beginning and end of the fight.

5.) Alistair Overeem will not lose a single fight this year

Ok, so maybe that's not as bold as I was hoping for it to sound, but considering his next fight is against Junior dos Santos, it's not an easy prediction to make. Ok, I lied; it's a really easy prediction to make because I believe the UFC does not currently have a heavyweight who's going to beat The Reem. He balances his submissions with his knockouts and he's a dangerous as hell fighter; hell everything about this guy - except his voice - is scary. Until I see someone beat him at this point in time, I'm not going to believe that someone can.

4.) Jon Jones (still) won't defend his title against Rashad Evans

We may find out this is true in a couple of weeks when Rashad takes on Phil Davis. I'm seeing other circumstances also falling into place in my mind because I don't know if Jones will HAVE the title long enough to defend it against Rashad. As I said in my LHW stock exchange I honestly believe Dan Henderson has the power to stop Jones in his tracks and take the belt. One way or the other, this fight won't happen, at least not for the title.

3.) Frank Mir will be the #1 contender at least twice this year

Now, you're asking yourself "How is that going to happen?" Well, good readers of MMA Torch let me tell you; Frank Mir is going to fight someone, be named the number one contender, and then lose. Then get himself into another eliminator match, and win, to again become the number one contender. That makes sense in my ridiculous inner monologue, so hopefully it translated well. Frank Mir has been a perennial contender for the better part of a decade, and that won't end anytime soon. He has been looking better and better as of late, and he has stacked on the muscle weight properly. Watch it, Mir will get two title fights, or at least one before the end of the year and one at the start of 2013. If we all don't die in December, that is.

2.) Rampage Jackson will leave the UFC

And when I say that, I mean on his own accord. My prediction is that he will show up to fight in Japan, destroy Ryan Bader, and get so into it that he jumps to DREAM. Sure, when he gets to DREAM there's not exactly a whole lot of people worth fighting at 205, but he will be with the crowd that he loves. I love Rampage, not the one that fights now, but the one that fought in Pride. We're not likely to see his fire return as long as he doesn't love the American fans, so he's going to depart from the UFC in search of less money, and a better record.

1. And my most ludicrous, insane, ridiculous, how-can-he-say-that prediction is:

Anderson Silva will not only lose the title this year, he will not win a single fight

Let's face it, "The Spider" is getting older, and with each fight you can see how much less he seems to care about taking home a decisive win. He went from running away for the last two rounds to killing people inside of three minutes. Chael Sonnen will take Anderson apart and submit him; then Vitor Belfort will add insult to injury by taking him out in a rematch. Yes, I am aware that the chances of this happening are about the same as the chances of Rich Hansen buying season tickets to the Packers, without losing a bet. The same as the chances of me putting on a Chicago Cubs jersey, and not kicking my own ass, or the same as Tim Tebow finishing an interview without the phrase "lots of Prayer." These predictions were meant to be mostly bold, but at least kind of likely. This may not live up to that, but it's something I wouldn't be too surprised to see.

Thank you all for reading, and don't forget to follow me on twitter at @BradMMATorch

Happy New Year to all of you Torch fans, and be sure to keep checking back for more!
