One time standout submission specialist, Paulo Filho has experienced one of the most noteworthy falls from grace in the history of the sport. Weight issues have plagued the Brazilian, as have glaring mental lapses, physical injuries and training inconsistencies. It looks as though Filho?s troubles have once again reared their ugly head.

Filho was initially tapped to collide with Mamed Khalidov in the main event of KSW 17 "Revenge". Those plans however, have now been thrown out the window, as numerous sources are reporting that Filho is experiencing serious health issues. Filho?s ailments remain undisclosed at this point, though the revelation of Filho?s withdrawal from the proposed bout doesn?t exactly come as shocking news.

Fortunately, organizers from Poland?s Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki have a back-up plan, and his name is Jesse Taylor.

Taylor will replace Filho, and in all honesty, he may make for a sturdier challenge for the highly underrated Khalidov. Taylor?s won five of his last six fights; included in that span, Taylor has defeated the rugged Tom Watson and the highly experienced Denis Kang. Since Taylor?s time on ?The Ultimate Fighter? he?s toppled numerous high caliber opponents, and proven a threat to anyone at 185 pounds.

Khalidov hasn?t exactly fallen on tough times himself. Mamed has won four of his last six, including big victories over Jorge Santiago, James Irvin, Matt Lindland and Japanese legend Yuki Sasaki.

KSW 17 "Revenge? takes place at the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland an November 26th.
