UFC President Dana White "beyond pissed" at Alistair Overeem's failed drug test for UFC 146

Alistair Overeem's failed drug test for elevated T/E levels this last week has massively affected the UFC's all-heavyweight card next month for UFC 146. That fact alone would draw the ire of an employer, but UFC President Dana White was especially vicious in his first comments on the subject in a conference call with Canadian media on Wednesday.

"I am beyond pissed about this,? White said (transcribed by TheStarPheonix.com. "I'm so [expletive] mad right now I can't even begin...The worst part is that he sat in front of us and lied to us... How [expletive] stupid do you have to be? Seriously dumb. Anybody who's using [performance-enhancing drugs] right now is an absolute [expletive] moron.

"It's beyond - what's the word I'm looking for - it's beyond belief. It's beyond comprehension. You're an absolute moron, a brain-dead absolute [expletive] dummy. It goes beyond a guy have any common sense whatsoever.?

While White said it was too soon to announce any changes to the card, he added that he didn't have a Plan B for UFC 146 off hand. Frank Mir has thrown his hat into the ring, and the man who Junior dos Santos took the belt from - Cain Velasquez - is also on the card. As for Overeem? Well, he's got to address the Nevada State Athletic Commission, and UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta, but White doesn't have any high hopes for his future with the UFC.

"It doesn't look good, does it?" he said. "It doesn't look good."

Penick's Analysis: White's reaction isn't surprising in the least. This is right up there with Nate Marquardt getting removed from UFC on Versus 4 last year the day of the weigh-ins. At least the UFC has time to put another fighter in this title fight, but Overeem has cost them a ton of money on what the fight could have potentially been. His only saving grace will be if the "B" sample comes back negative, but damage has already been done. If he's removed from this card entirely, I'm not expecting the UFC to keep him on the roster. This is just one of the more disappointing test failures the UFC has had to deal with.
