Leben's corner stopped the bout after the second frame ended, with Leben saying he couldn't see out of his left eye. The bout was nearly stopped during the second round from the cut, but instead of asking Leben if he could see, the referee told Leben "if you tell me you can't see I'm going to stop it," prompting Leben to lie about his vision to continue.
But in continuing he allowed Munoz to also continue the beating he had been delivering throughout the first and second rounds. Munoz began the fight by taking Leben down, and the fight took on a bit of a pattern from there.
Munoz would work his takedowns and some vicious ground and pound, while Leben would work his way to his feet, zombie his way across the cage and attempt a choke on Munoz after getting his strikes in.
Munoz took some hard shots from Leben in the fight, but delivered the more brutal beating, and ultimately the damage was too great for Leben to continue.
After the bout, Munoz said he wanted a title shot against Anderson Silva. The win was his fourth straight, and he's at the very least making an argument for the shot. Leben has now lost two of his last three.
